From our colleagues at WIDA, Drs. Margo Gottlieb and Lynn Shafer Willner provide a practitonner perspective on using the WIDA standards. Entitled Optimizing Equity for K-12 Multilingual Learners Through Common Assessment, Gottlieb and Shafer Willner illustrate a two-phase process for embedding common instructional assessment practices into grade-level units of learning that are anchored in Florida content standards and the WIDA ELD standards framework.
