2026 CALL FOR PROPOSALS

 

 

The 2026 Sunshine State TESOL Program Committee invites you to submit a session, workshop, or paper/research proposal for the SSTESOL Annual Conference 2026, which will be held in person at the Full Sail University on October 10-11, 2026. The conference theme is “Back to the ELT Future: Human Creativity Beyond AI.” SSTESOL is seeking proposals that reflect the best and most promising topics, research, and practice to support quality education of English learners (ELs) from diverse populations. Please use the guidelines below to help you prepare the best proposal possible. 

for proposals: May 6, 2026. Deadline for proposal submissions to be received: June 30, 2026.

  • Acceptances of Presentations: July 30, 2026.

  • Presenter/Early Bird Registration: August 30, 2026.  

Proposal Components

Presenter Information: Name, title, institutional affiliation, email address, physical address, and telephone number of all presenters on proposal.

Presenter Bio: 30-word limit

Title: 12-word limit.

Strands: Choose one 

  • Adult Education

  • Advocacy/Policy

  • AI/Instructional Technology

  • Applied Linguistics & Language Development

  • Dual Language/Bilingual Education

  • English as a Foreign Language (EFL)

  • English for Academic Purposes (EAP) / Intensive English Program (IEP)

  • English for Specific Purposes (ESP) 

  • K-12 Education

  • Mental Health/SEL

  • Program Administration

  • Teacher Education

  • Other Emerging Topics


Presentation Types

  • 20-minute micro-session roundtable (interactive discussion, emerging ideas, or works-in-progress)

  • 45-minute presentation/workshop (in-depth session for developed research, projects, or practice)

  • Panel discussion (multiple presenters offering diverse perspectives on a shared topic)

  • Poster session (visual format ideal for early-stage research, student projects, or exploratory ideas)


Submission Guidelines

Abstract: 75-word limit. This will be used in the program. 

Proposal Summary: 300-word limit 

Selection Criteria: Timeliness of topic, relevance to the conference theme, positive contribution to the TESOL field, and clarity. The SSTESOL Proposal Evaluation Rubric will be used to evaluate proposals.
